ABOUT THE PRESS
Secret Astronomer is an independent press publishing zines, artist books, photobooks, music scores, experimental publications, and performances. We are interested in work that lives in the space between genres and mediums.
Grounded in collaboration and a freeform definition of “publication,” Secret Astronomer is an adaptive and inherently exploratory maker of interdisciplinary, collaborative, and thoughtfully handmade and curated cultural objects and expressions. Everything we produce is intended to elicit a sensory and often tactile experience: zine, book, print, collage, show. The press aspires to be an evolving destination where artists and audiences come to meet and be curious together.
Secret Astronomer is based in Durham, North Carolina.
